PAUL BASILE

FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL BASILE STUDIO

Paul Basile's commercial, hospitality, and retail design build ​projects have earned wide-ranging critical acclaim and multiple ​awards for Interior Design, Transformative Design, Adaptive ​Reuse, Sustainability, and Divine Details from organizations, ​including the American Institute of Architects and the San ​Diego Architectural Foundation.

As a 4th generation builder and 1st generation designer, ​developer, sculptor, and entrepreneur, Paul launched his career ​with a line of hand-crafted furniture in the early 90s. As ​increasing requests for one-off projects poured in, each larger ​in scale than the last, his attention and expertise grew to ​encompass the design and fabrication of custom architectural ​details and building renovations as a licensed general ​contractor. The doors to BASILE Studio opened in 1994, evolving ​into a full-service design/build and fabrication studio in 2008. ​Paul’s diverse background, intrinsic sense of structures, space, ​and style, exhaustive attention to detail, and perpetual drive to ​mix traditional design methods with cutting-edge technology is ​at the core of BASILE Studio’s high-end, pioneering spaces.

Established in 2005 by industry luminary Jules Wilson, Jules Wilson ​Design Studio is an award-winning multidisciplinary firm celebrated for ​crafting timeless, meaningful spaces across high-end commercial, ​residential, hospitality, luxury multifamily, retail, and restaurant projects. ​Rejecting trends, the studio champions uninhibited creativity and a ​collaborative spirit, seamlessly integrating exterior and interior design. ​Jules Wilson's 26-year design journey, from studying in Florence to ​restoring California's oldest historical pool, showcases a unique vision ​that breathes life into groundbreaking projects worldwide.

With an aesthetic rooted in bold elegance, the studio doesn't merely ​design spaces; it creates tactile experiences, intertwining movement, ​texture, color theory, lighting, mood, and acoustics. Driven by strategic ​storytelling and exposure, the studio aims to attract top-tier clients, build ​public trust, and elevate its brand through social media management.

DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

Basile+Wilson is focused on developing design driven experiential living and ​hospitality spaces, with integrated restaurants, wellness activities and co-working ​components. We are deploying capital to projects ranging in size from $10-50 million, ​managing development, design and construction from site acquisition to completion.

We welcome all brokers, development partners and investors to contact us with ​projects of possible interest in the Western US. We are interested in development ​from the ground up as well as interesting sites for renovation.

La Jolla is also home to our founders, our first project and our offices. As a result, we ​have a special place in our heart for all projects in La Jolla and would welcome all ​inquiries related to experiences for the community we live in to share.
